Ruffles - one of the most popular elements for decorating dresses, blouses and skirts. As a rule, ruffles-hearts are sewn manually from silk or velvet ribbons for a Bavarian national costume.
However, they can be made from lace tape and other materials. This cute decoration is ideal not only for national costumes, but also, for example, for finishing bedding and table linen, for night shirts and other underwear, for wedding accessories and even wedding and evening dresses, for other types of clothes, especially for children, and not only from light tissues.Such ruffles are performed quite simply.
Step 1
Draw on the wrong side at equal intervals on both edges of the needle puncture mark. The distance should not be too large. Marks should be on both edges of the tape exactly parallel to each other (at right angles to the edge of the tape).Step 2
Work horizontally: connect two edges of fabric with two stitches. In doing so, grab a few strands of tape. Tighten the thread so that the edges of the tape join. Fasten the thread. Pass the thread to the following marks so as not to pull the ribbon vertically. After that, connect and tighten the next two parallel marks.Step 3
On the front side you should get voluminous "hearts".After finishing work, fix the end of the thread well.Photo: burdastyle archive
