To make the finished product look professionally sewn, first of all, you need to learn how to perfectly sew seams, and even more so - decorative stitching.
We offer some basic rules for beginners ...If you need to stop while sewing, make sure that the needle remains in the fabric. When sewing a stitch along a corner, stop the needle exactly along the bisector line, raise the presser foot of the sewing machine, rotate the fabric around the needle, lower the foot and continue stitching.
To prevent loops or knots from forming from the wrong side at the beginning of the stitching, hold the ends of the threads tightly or first continue the stitching along the fabric flap folded in half, then place the necessary part under the foot directly to the flap and continue stitching.
Do not forget: at the beginning and at the end of the seam you need to do the fastening! Cut the flap.
To lay the stitch exactly at the right distance from the edge or cut along its entire length, it is best to use a ruler-guide (see the instructions for your sewing machine). Or: set aside the right section to the right of the needle and glue a strip of bright adhesive tape.
While sewing, advance the fabric exactly along the edge of the tape.
