Starting with dresses for Barbie, the designer came to the creation of “high fashion dolls” and the corresponding outfits for them, as well as to the development and release of collections of bright and unusual clothes for women.

About the page author

The name of Nigel Chia is known to many of those who are interested in collectible dolls and outfits for them. This designer from Malaysia a few years ago became famous primarily for luxurious dresses for Barbie. Now he also makes dolls of his own design, and he sews clothes not only toy, but also real, “human” sizes.

Nigel Chia received two degrees - in the field of veterinary medicine and fashion design, but the choice was made unequivocally and without hesitation. Nigel decided to give himself to the fashion industry - not least because of his huge passion for it. The fame brought him a collection of magnificent dresses for Barbie dolls, including wedding dresses. After the designer came up with and began to create his own dolls - he calls them DeMuse, high-end collectible dolls. Today Nigel Chia continues to work with dolls and clothes for them, plus she makes collections for women.

What is this page about

Nigel Chia’s page is entirely devoted to his passion - the creation of DeMuse dolls, the design and manufacture of luxurious, elaborate outfits for them, as well as fashion collections for women, which he displays on the catwalk customary for fashion designers and models. Often Nigel himself comes up with the design of fabrics for his collections, manually works on the creation of embroideries and other jewelry for dresses, and he can independently paint the faces of his DeMuse. On the designer’s page you will find photos and videos showing the finished work, and the process of creating them.

"I know exactly what a high-fashion doll should look like, I create my own muse," says the designer. His DeMuse is not so cute and "puppet", as they served as a prototype for Barbie. DeMuse does not look like toys, but rather like fatal beauties or small copies of top models from the pages of magazines and catwalks. Their faces and figures are much more human, and the mobility of the dolls gives them the opportunity to take any poses - priceless for photo shoots. Nigel also dresses up her “muses” “in an adult way”: in such toilets one could appear both at a gala reception and on the red carpet. Characteristically, collections for women largely reflect the “puppet” hobbies of the designer.
