This small cute bag can be sewn from old jeans, and a buckle made of genuine or artificial leather can be used for fastening.

This bag can be narrower or wider - it will depend on the width of the legs of those jeans that you choose for alteration. You can also choose the height of the bag you need by cutting off the leg below or above. A clasp is required for the fastener. If you take two straps that are identical or in harmony with each other, you can also make a handle for this bag, then it can be worn over the shoulder. By the way, if you sew such a bag from tight jeans and do not sew on the handle, then you can use it as a cosmetic bag.

What to make of old jeans: 19 great ideas

Step 1

Jeans should be washed and dried before work.Lay out jeans on a work surface. For a handbag, only one of the legs is required. Decide on the height of the bag you need and cut the leg at the right height. From the strap, cut a section 10-15 cm long on the side of the clasp.

Step 2

Turn out the cut off part of a leg. Between the cut edges of the leg in the middle, insert a piece of the strap inside, as shown in the photo. The legs with a strap can be swept away or chopped off with pins. Sew the bottom seam of the bag by grabbing the strap. Process the seam.

Step 3

Cut a small piece from the strap - it will serve as a mount for the long part of the strap. On the long part, use the awl to make holes for fastening. Sew a long section of the strap with contrasting threads, as shown in the photo, and a piece of fastening for this long part. If you wish - if you want to make a pen - you can sew another strap on the sides of the bag.
