We understand what a romper is, how to choose it and what to wear with.

Often, foreign terms hide for a long time and well-known things! Therefore, if the obscure word "romper" is not to your liking, you can easily replace it with "jumpsuit" - however, it is only about short jumpsuits with shorts.
Initially, rompers in English were called baby romper and overalls, in the 50s of the last century female rompers were included in fashion as an element of home clothes, convenient for cleaning and everyday tasks. Then the model was already firmly entrenched in the women's wardrobe, and, despite such a “frivolous” origin, rompers, like regular overalls, range from beach to fairly strict.

How to choose a romper

Of course, a romper is an entirely summer thing, therefore, for its tailoring, silk, satin, linen, cotton fabrics, lightweight denim, thin knitwear and other lightweight natural materials are used. Printed fabrics are traditionally even preferable, so in 2016 choose fashionable prints - from large cages to floral abstractions!

As for the styles, the romper, despite its apparent simplicity and uniformity, can have many variations: bando, with and without sleeves, with an American armhole, lace-up, with collars and so on.Choose a model depending on your type of figure: for example, a “pear” figure will most likely look if the emphasis in the romper is shifted to the top of the product - decor elements, large prints should be located here. “Apple” suits overalls of a free silhouette, most preferably from dark fabrics.
Tip: if you want to visually lengthen your legs, choose tight-fitting high-waisted rompers.

If you chose a summer romper, then you can safely combine it with absolutely all summer accessories: straw hats, sunglasses, beach bags. As for shoes, it’s best to complement this look with summer models of shoes, and although a heel with a romper is not contraindicated, it is preferable to models with a flat sole or wedge heel.

If your choice is a more rigorous romper, then there is a great hint: formally, the romper is very similar to a mini-dress, and the "arrangement" of such a jumpsuit is very similar. Complement your short jumpsuit with a jacket or cardigan.
With the right approach, a small black dress can be successfully replaced with a small black romper - in this case, pay close attention to jewelry.

Romper, jumper and jumpsuit

Closing the topic of romper, you can not do without a little clarification. On the pages of fashion magazines you can often find even more extravagant terms, such as a jumper and jumpsuit, although it seems that the same jumpsuit is hidden behind them! We understand what is the difference between them.

A romper is a strictly short jumpsuit, it can be extreme mini, and maybe a little more authentic, but if its length is up to the knees and below, the romper with a “slight movement of the hand” turns into a jumpsuit. That jumpsuit is what we call overalls in the most traditional sense of the word. Jumpers are called sundresses, which are supposed to be worn over t-shirts or blouses, as well as skirts with suspenders.
