Dazzling luxury, sparkling with all the colors of the rainbow, the brink of mountain crystals that accurately imitate the mesmerizing brilliance of diamonds, sapphires, emeralds ...

On November 22, in a restaurant in the very center of Moscow, the final of the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF DESIGNERS and MASTERS working with SWAROVSKI crystals, entitled

"Shine of the East"

What, if not gems, cause associations primarily with the wealth of the Indian padishahs, Arab sheikhs and Turkish sultans! Luxury from which it is impossible to take your eyes off. A work that causes amazement and admiration. Professionalism in every detail thought out to the smallest detail.
I can’t say for sure, but all the authors with whom I had a chance to communicate during the summing up of the competition were either professionally trained in painting or loved to draw from childhood. That is why the color and compositional solutions presented for the competition of jewelry and accessories are so flawless.
And it is also very important, before starting the work itself, to create a sketch, thanks to which you can find the perfect shape of the product as a whole, and its components - from very large to very small ones, as well as the background. All this, of course, in 3D.
The competition featured works by masters from Germany, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and various parts of the Russian Federation from Crimea to Siberia. In our digital and rapidly changing world, interest in HAND-MADE is growing, in which there are a lot of areas and techniques. People who are tired of stamped factory products often prefer individual, special, hand-made jewelry that instills calm and harmony in them.
Frankly, I feel a special euphoria when I am in the society of authors of creative jewelry for the reason that they all wear their items. Imagine - a dozen women surround you, and each of them has completely nontrivial earrings in its ears, magnificent necklaces on its neck, amazing bracelets and rings in its hands, and some of them hold absolutely stunning handbags.

The author from Germany, with whom we were sitting at the same table, allowed me to photograph my earring. Agree, it is impossible not to notice such a decoration. And the basis of the earrings is the "peep" of the season: SWAROVSKI rhinestone in the shape of a skull. When this new mystical line was launched into production, many were against it, however, this new form of rhinestone immediately became popular and remains a trendy element of jewelry with SWAROVSKI crystals until now.
I admit another weakness - to small handbags that resemble jewelry. Clutches, reticules, etc. with embroidery, with rhinestones and other decorative finishes immediately create a festive atmosphere. After all, we wear jewelry every day, but with such a handbag you can’t go anywhere except for a holiday.
And I'm also sorry that in the decor of evening dresses we do not use rhinestones imitating precious stones as often as we would like. Embroidering outfits with river pearls, sapphires and rubies was in the customs of Russian aristocrats. Now each of us can afford it, because rhinestones are affordable for everyone, at least for one dress in life.
Of course, modern large necklaces and shoulder pads may well replace the decor of the dress. My weakness is collar necklaces. They immediately change their mood and style, and look very modern.
Attention, a novelty for clothing decor: the so-called crystal mesh, or crystals on a SWAROVSKI mesh.

Such a mesh is sewn onto the fabric of the dress and get a completely unusual, sparkling-iridescent effect. We can say with confidence that this know-how is a fashion hit of upcoming seasons in the world of fabrics. And he was already highly appreciated by many celebrity, having appeared at receptions and celebrations in new-fashionable dresses.
But in general, everyone loves to sparkle, everything and everything. Including mobile phones with which we do not part even at night, photo frames, cases for glasses and even puffy boots.
Another novelty: it is now very fashionable to make the so-called geometric pictures in the interior. These are plates with randomly pasted SWAROVSKI rhinestones of various shapes and sizes, completely covering the background. Such a picture can be put on a table instead of a photo in a frame, hung on a wall anywhere in the house, including instead of any one tile or instead of a mirror.

Finally, a few words about the fashionable colors of crystals in the upcoming season: it is purple and lilac, primarily with a noble shimmer of gray, and also maroon and deep blue.
In conclusion, I would very much like to once again congratulate all participants and finalists of the contest, and first of all the winners!
