Burda Academy St. Petersburg invites everyone to take part in an open online sewing marathon for tailoring dresses with a bodice-corsage.
Sewing marathon is a unique training format, during which, under the guidance of curators, you can not only easily and quickly sew a “dress for a special occasion”, but also take part in the drawing of valuable prizes: a sewing machine, a sliding mannequin, certificates for the purchase of fabrics and tailor's shoes as well as special prizes.

What will we sew
Dress with a bodice of corset type and a flying skirt based on model 128 from the release of Burda 3/2016.

This model, depending on the fabric, will be appropriate in any situation:
- such a dress made of cotton satin or thin jeans would be appropriate during the day. Put on a summer jacket on top - and you have a set for a working day at the office, and in the evening in the same dress you will feel comfortable at a party.
- if you sew this model from jacquard, then you will not go unnoticed at any gala event.
- If you make this model from the main fabric and duplicate it with chiffon, then such a gentle combination of fabrics will make you a real princess.
What we will learn as part of this marathon:
- choose the right materials and consumables for sewing dresses of this type
- methods of decanting, depending on the composition of the fabric
- simulate 3 options of the bodice: a curved neckline a heart, a V-neckline or a straight line of the upper cut
- duplicate the bodice details with chiffon (it is not necessary that you will use this technique in your product, but you can repeat this dress from another material using this technique)
- process reliefs using regiline
- process the upper section of the bodice using silicone braid and straps
- create an assembly along the upper cut of the skirt
- correctly process the technological units of the bodice and skirt
