This thing is truly magical! She looks relaxed with jeans, elegant with a narrow skirt, elegantly with a long evening dress ...
Coco Chanel (1883-1971) to a greater extent than many others, determined the development of modern fashion.
On her initiative, women took off their corsets, replaced their long fluffy skirts with narrow knee-length skirts, and lush ruffles and ruffles with elegant knitted cardigans.
Coco Chanel became the first clothing designer working for the apparel industry.
She declared war on the "barbaric fashion" of Paul Poiret (1879-1944) and turned Paris into a fashionable metropolis.
But most importantly, her style remains relevant, despite the constant changes in the fashion industry, simply because she was able to anticipate new trends of the twentieth century and created a new female image.
Gabrielle Chanel was born in the small French town of Somour in the Loire Valley on August 19, 1883. At the age of 11, after the death of her mother, she was taken to a shelter where she learned to sew. At 20, she entered a boutique as a saleswoman. An extra income for her was singing in the Rotunda cabaret. For the most popular songs in the repertoire, "Co-co-ri-co" and "Qui gu'a vu Coco" she was called "Coco". Soon, Gabriel moved to Paris, where in 1909 a friend Balzan helped her open a store of women's hats (in which the famous little hats appeared). A year later, Gabriel, with the help of her beloved, wealthy Englishman Arthur Capel, opens his own fashion house in Paris opposite the Ritz Hotel. Her new clothing style revolutionized the fashion of the 20s and, as a consequence, the fashion of the twentieth century. The main features of Chanel's new style are comfort, simplicity, efficiency, naturalness and elegance. Creating her models, Gabrielle worked only on fashion models, forcing them to move and gesticulate.
Ms. Chanel creates the image of a new woman: a short haircut, a tan, trousers, simple linen dresses, narrow straight coats. In 1926, the famous “little black dress” appeared: barely covering the knees, with a round neckline - in combination with bright red lipstick, a string of white pearls and black pumps, it looked laconic, elegant and erotic.
The dress perfectly complemented the aroma of Chanel No. 5 perfumes created by then (in collaboration with perfumer Ernest Bo) (according to Coco, “perfumes for a woman who smells like a woman”).
In the second half of the 20s, thanks to the novel by Coco Chanel with the Duke of Westminster, tweed jackets and knitted woolen sweaters became fashionable. And in the early 30s, gorgeous flowing evening dresses appeared, embroidered with gold threads.
Coco Chanel never tried to look like everything; she did not only hang out the clothes she had created with her hands on the window, but she wore it everywhere. Coco Chanel was an extraordinary personality - witty, originally thinking and unpredictable. She was distinguished by a strong character, judiciousness, straightforwardness, and sometimes cynicism. She was familiar with many great people in the art world and often in their work drew inspiration for her original ideas.
In 1939, Chanel Fashion House was closed for a long 15 years. However, at the age of 71, Gabrielle returned from Switzerland to Paris and again conquered the whole world with a new collection. In contrast to her long-time rival Christian Dior with his "New Look" style, she performed with simple and comfortable suits and dresses for all occasions and for women of all ages.
A year later, an elegant Chanel-style suit appeared - with a straight skirt and a jacket without a collar and lapels, with edged edges and metal buttons (see the top photo). This costume is still popular and is present in every collection of Chanel Fashion House.
Jacket Chanel! This thing is truly magical! With jeans, she looks relaxed, with a narrow skirt elegantly, with a long evening dress elegantly. But in any case, the Chanel jacket brings a touch of real Parisian chic to the female look!
A jacket guaranteeing its owner a stylish look can be seen now from Paris to Tokyo on girls and women of any age. It gives a touch of exclusivity to worn jeans and the most expensive business suit, while always looking great regardless of whether it is sewn from a classic boucle, rustic loden or sequin fabric. In short, a short jacket a la Chanel has become a concentrated expression of chic and elegance. The history of its occurrence is as follows. Shortly before the outbreak of World War II, Gabrielle Chanel closed her Fashion House, then left Paris and lived in Switzerland for the first post-war period. But from there she closely watched the development of fashion in her homeland, and what she saw was completely not to her liking. She considered fashionable dresses with hornet waist and lush heavy skirts to be contrary to female emancipation.Indeed, in them women looked like dolls, and were deprived of their identity.
And in 1954, an energetic grand lady of fashion reopened a salon in Paris and at the age of 70 conquered the world with her famous costume! Over time, the jacket, which was originally only the upper part of this costume, gained independent value and turned into an important part of the classic wardrobe.

The cut of the jacket, sporty, comfortable and at the same time feminine, has practically not changed over the years: it, as before, has a straight loose silhouette and a single-breasted fastener, lapels are missing, buttons are usually gold. The jacket can also be decorated with two or four small pockets.
Real Chanel jackets are very expensive these days. However, to quickly raise your fashion status, it is not necessary to have the original. After all, the famous jacket was copied by thousands of different companies and private tailors. Interestingly, Chanel herself had nothing against: "My models are designed to be worn, not shown off!"
